HL7 Working Group Updates from the TSC for the week of December 10th, 2012

The TSC approved the following projects:
HL7 Version 3 Detailed Clinical Models, Release 1(body weight and body height), updated Project Scope Statement, at Project Insight # 320, for Patient Care of DESD. For the purposes of informative publication of two of the five Detailed Clinical Models, PC updated the scope statement at the requests of the TSC. The scope is reduced to the two for publication, which are body weight and body height.
HL7 Care Coordination Service(CCS), at Project Insight 924 for Patient Care WG of DESD, and cosponsored by Clinical Decision Support WG of SSD SD and SOA WG of FTSD. The purpose of this effort is to create a standard and specification for an HL7 SOA Care Coordination Service to support collaboration among a multi-disciplinary care team consisting of members from either the same or different organizations (e.g. primary care clinic, home care, allied health professionals, hospital, skilled nursing facility, etc.).
Care Plan Initiative, at Project insight # 932 and TSC Tracker #2420 for Patient Care WG of DESD. The Care Plan Topic is one of the roll outs of the Care Provision Domain Message Information Model (D-MIM). The Care Plan is a specification of the Care Statement with a focus on defined Acts in a guideline, and their transformation towards an individualized plan of care in which the selected Acts are added

The TSC welcomes their 2013 elected members to begin serving on the TSC as ad-hoc members effective immediately – welcome Andy Stechishin and Jean Duteau!
The TSC approved the following publications:
HL7 Version 3 Detailed Clinical Models, Release 1 (body weight and body height), at Project Insight # 320, for Patient Care of DESD. Patient Care requests informative publication of two of the five Detailed Clinical Models, and also requests registration as an ANSI report.
HL7 Implementation Guide for Clinical Document Architecture, Release 2: Consent Directives, Release 1, from Project Insight # 553 approved request of extension for 12 months (current DSTU expired July 2012).This standard will be revised and re-balloted as a Normative Standard in May 2013 based on lessons learned from previous pilots, most specifically based on Phase I & II of the ONC S&I DS4P initiative.
